Day 01 – Dibrugarh – Mon (205 km / 7-8 Hrs)
Today morning you will arrive at Dibrugarh airport. Our representative will meet and greet you on arrival and drive to Mon, situated in Nagaland. It is a home of Konyak tribe. Unique lifestyle with exotic location attract traveller to this place. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 02 : Mon
Morning drives to Chanmoho village, where we will see people with tatooed faces, explore the village life, meet the locals and interact with them. Next proceed to Chui village which still has its own charm where one can see the ethnic Konyak way of constructing their houses with thatch roof where the main pillars jutting out of the roof. One may also expect to see some local weavers/craftsmen. Overnight stay in home stay/ Hotel.
Day 03: Mon
Today we shall visit Lungwa village which is bodering with Burma as the international boundary runs through the Anhg’s house- it goes The Angh eat in Nagaland and sleeps in Burma. As we get into the village we shall visit the Angh’s house where one can see the massive wood carvings and even the size of the house itself is a magnificent sight. Meet local people (they are reserved by nature). Lunch. Post lunch drive ti Shangkhachingnyu village where we will see local craftmen and war trophies. Overnight stay in home stay/ Hotel.
Day 04: Mon – Mokokchung (180 Km / 8-9 Hrs)
Today we drive to Ao tribe of the Nagas, enroute we shall halt over at Lenden to see the bamboo mat making by the locals. Next stop will be at Chuchuyanlan village further drive to Mokokchung home town of the Ao Nagas.Overnight at Mokokchung Hotel.
Day 05: Mokokchung
Today we explore some Ao villages – Impur village to visit the Museum which display machines and tools which were used by the Missionaries. Next visit Moponchuket village where you will understand the legend of ‘life cycle’ believed by the Ao’s which are depicted on wooden pillars.
Lunch. Post lunch drive to Aliba village where we will see, perhaps one of the biggest log drum in Nagaland. Next we proceed to Chungtia village which bears wittness of the Ao tradition having a Machang – a seating platform which is predominantly made of bamboo. Overnight stay in home stay/ Hotel.
Day 06: Mokokchung – Tuophema (120 Km / 5-6 Hrs)
After breakfast drive towards Tuophema village. Enroute we shall visit one of the oldest Ao Naga village – Ungma. Legend tells that many present Ao villages migrated from this village. The brief visit will introduce you to the local weavers and meet old peoples. Next we shall proceed to Longkhum village which has being regarded as the vanguard village of the Ao region during head-hunting days. Longkhum is not just a village with past glories but even today the village acts as a model in bio-diversity conservation. Next, we shall have a glimpse of a Lotha Naga village called Longsa, and also Tseminyu village of Rengma tribe. Overnight stay in home stay/ Hotel.
Day 07: Tuophema – Kohima (45 Km / 1-2 Hrs)
Tuophema happens to be the first village in Nagaland having a successful story in community base tourism.
Morning, we shall walk around the village where we’ll see smiling faces with welcoming attitude. The village has about 12 cottages and all these are contributed and constructed by the community. In the walk, we shall come across community hall, ceremonial gate, etc.
Lunch at Gariphema village post lunch explore Gariphema village and drive to Kohima. Overnight stay in Hotel.
Day 08: Kohima – Dimapur aitport drop
Today after breakfast, check out from the hotel and leave for Dimapur airport. Our vehicle will drop you on Dimapur airport to catch the flight for onward connection.
