Day 01 -ARRIVAL AT DIMAPUR – KOHIMA (70 kms)
Today you will arrive at Dimapur. Our representative will meet and greet you on arrival, after some refreshment drive to Kohima city, upon arrival at the city transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 02– KOHIMA – KHONOMA – KOHIMA (20kms one way)
After breakfast check , start your today’s program, drive to Khonoma village and meet Angami tribes. Experience tribal lifestyle and drive back to Kohima , sightseeing of Kohima. Visit the WW II Cemetery, nestled in the heart of Kohima town, where one of the fiercest battles was fought. On a huge stone in-laid bronze the following famous words are there to remind one of undoubting courage displayed by the war heroes in order to preserve the freedom of the future generation. Overnight stay in Hotel.
Day 03- KOHIMA – TOUPHEMA (41 Kms)
After breakfast check out from the hotel and leave for Touphema Village, situated on a hillock surrounded by lush green valley. It is set up to showcase the traditional Naga lifestyle and culture and history,an importance place of preserving this ancient culture. Today you can enjoy the local Naga life experiencing the traditional Naga dance and celebrations. There is a museum housed within the village and guided walks to nearby hills and visits to paddy fields are available. Overnight at Touphema Tourist Village.
Day 04 – TOUPHEMA – MOKOKCHUNG
After breakfast leave for Mokokchung, Situated at an altitude of 4347 feet, Mokokchung is the home of the Ao Naga tribe. According to the legends the Aos sprung up from “Longtrok” which means “six stones”. In the past, Mokokchung was one of the preliminary locations in the Naga Hills, where the British had established their presence in the late 19th century. On arrival transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free for own activity.
Day 05 – MOKOKCHUNG
After breakfast , explore Mokokchung for the day. Visit Mopungchuket Village, Longkhum village(if time permit), this village is famous for primitive history of headhunting. The Aos believe that Longkhum is the resting place of the dead spirit onward journey to the heaven. Few people of this village still believe in the animistic religion and still worship their god “Longlanpa Tsungrem”. The villagers are very friendly in nature and they feel proud to showcase their rich handicrafts and handlooms to the visitors. After that drive to Mon, Situated at an altitude of 897.64 meters it is the land of the Konyaks (One of the fiercest tribes in the world). Even though there is a legal administrative system, but actually it is ruled by tribal chiefs called Anghs (locally known as ‘Wang’ meaning the beginning of everything). Mon is the only district in Nagaland to have this unique institution of Anghship. Overnight stay at Mokokchung.
DAY 6: MOKOCHUNG – TUENSANG
Morning after early breakfast drive to Tuensang (1371 mts). visit LONGKHIM Village of Sangtam tribe – Visit local Sangtam house and a small walk in the village. After that proceed to TUENSANG Village it is home of Cham Tribe, explore around to see some of the finest traditional huts. Overnight at Tuensang.
DAY 7: TUENSANG – MON
After an early breakfast drive (160 km) to Mon via Tobu. After a long drive reach the Mon Town. Rest of the day free for your own activity. Overnight stay at Mon.
DAY 08: MON
After breakfast explore the Mon, first visit Shangnyu village. Visit -village Morong, Shangnyu village museum, Shangnyu Ang house which is close to the museum, Rock memorials etc. In the afternoon drive to Chui Village to see Wangkhao Ang House – one of the best Ang houses with beautiful decoration. Overnight at Mon.
DAY 9: MON – SIBSAGAR
After breakfast check out from the hotel and leave for Sibsagar, it was once capital of Assam during Ahom Rule. If time permit visit some of the important historical places of the town. Overnight stay at Sibsagar.
DAY 10: SIBSAGAR – DIBRUGARH
After breakfast check out from the hotel and leave for Dibrugarh airport to catch the flight for onward connection.
